I was actually reading a guide to shamanism last night and playing my native American flute and I asked to be introduced to my spirit protector and all of a sudden the name Black Bear popped into my head and a picture of a Native American as well. I actually found this article because of it. I am not sure if I am really doing it right as I am just venturing by myself but that's what I felt anyway. I also saw an eagle soaring high above me....but I'm not sure of anything else about the eagle. Thanks for the article. Wow. I have many spirits around me, all the time. I have an animal protector (like a spiritual bodyguard) who is totally different than my guide. The angels, they are something altogether different, ghosts and spirits are also all around us, but they aren't the same thing as guides, either.
