I’m feeling the need to give my other grandmother some credit today. My father’s mother is the grandmother I spoke of in an earlier post, the one who spoke to animals. She had many other mystical qualities too, but mostly she was an Earth mother. She was very much connected to the Earth and its inhabitants.
My mother’s mother on the other hand was very “airy.” She was an Aquarius. She was also a nurse. She finished nursing school in the 1930s when there really weren’t that many women in colleges at all.
She was a healer. She worked in a hospital for a little while but mostly she made house calls. When I was a child I went with her on some of these calls and many of them did not involve traditional nursing practices at all. Sometimes it only involved Love. Do you understand what I mean? Sometimes these people only needed my grandmother’s love.
That is what healing is really all about.
My teacher says that sometimes the people who come to her only need to be touched. That is the healing for them.
Several months ago I decided that my new field of study would be LOVE.
And here I am.
